Mission Statement
Washington Cricket Club will develop sport and in particular Cricket in the wider community giving opportunities to all who want to play the sport regardless of age, race, religion or ability. We will endeavour to continually develop both the human and physical infrastructure of the club to provide the facilities for life long engagement in an active lifestyle
Current Situation
Since the original Club Development Plan the Club have made significant strides in its development, building links with both secondary and primary schools in the area and establishing new teams at under 11, under 13, under 15 and under 18.
Aims of the Club
We have the ECB Club Mark status, and classed as Focus Club by the Durham County Cricket Board.
Washington Cricket Club aims to provide pathways for people of all ages to develop a lifelong active lifestyle based on playing active sport from the age of 7, this will be achieved by providing opportunities to play cricket at all ages and at all levels appropriate to the ability of members of the club.
We are currently running teams in the Durham Coast League 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams at senior levels. In the junior section we have currently and Under 11 Team, two under 13 and 15s teams and under 18s Team.
We also have a team playing in the Hetton Lyons Sunday league, this team is used to introduce juniors, new members to the longer format of the game.
While promoting diversity, the club will continue to nurture and develop the skills of the gifted and talented offering pathways to the highest level of cricket via strong links with the County CDM (Cricket Development Managers), and the Community Coaches.
The club will also continue to develop links with its wider community, such as schools volunteer organizations, elected members and residents groups in order to develop as many pathways into cricket as possible.
Actively involved with the District Development Groups.

4 Retention of junior players in adult cricket
5 Development of volunteers
6 Status of the senior teams
7 Development of physical infrastructure of the club.
